Shotokan Karate is a traditional Japanese martial art focusing on empty hand techniques. Students in this class will learn fundamental blocking, kicking, and striking techniques and forms (kata). Application of these techniques will be taught and practiced through sparring and self-defense drills. Benefits include increased fitness, strength and coordination as well as improved confidence. Shotokan karate is very widespread, helping students to continue training over breaks and after college should they so desire. All experience levels welcome.
Bare feet and comfortable exercise clothing are recommended. Please bring a water bottle to class.

How to register for an Activity class:
*At the Student Recreation Service Center or by calling 970-491-6359 (press ‘0’)
*Payment for classes must be made at the time of registration. Cash, check with current identification, Visa, and MasterCard are accepted. Ram Cash are accepted as well.
*Pre-registration is encouraged.
*Late registration may be available for classes already in session. Check with the Service Center for details after the first week of class.
Class Cancellations:
• Classes that do not meet minimum enrollment will be cancelled second week of the activity class.
• If a class is cancelled by Campus Recreation, a full refund is provided.
REFUND POLICY: Refund requests must be submitted to the Service Center at the Student Recreation Center. Refunds are reviewed and a decision made depending upon the reason for the request. All refunds are assessed a $5 processing fee.
