Back by popular demand is the chance to spend a day in the field with our experienced instructors learning the basics of traditional (trad) single-pitch anchor building. We will introduce you to both passive and active protection, as well as techniques for assessing the site, determining rock quality, and equalizing anchors. By the end of the day, you should have a basic understanding of top-rope anchor building, and if all goes well, you will even get the chance to climb on a route that you create.
We will provide the following: harness, climbing shoes, helmet, belay device, all of the techincal rock gear that we will be working with, and even lunch!
But hurry, space is very limited and this is typically one of our most popular classes of the semester.
